Hamid Mohammadi
Hamid Mohammadi is a multi-disciplinary artist, working primarily in painting, drawing, and illustration. His work examines people as well as their built, natural and imagined environments through multiple optimistic and contemplative lenses. In his artwork, Hamid projects images, symbols, thoughts and movements relating to happiness and positivity.
He presents figures in an inclusive way, seeking a universal visual language. With Euphoria and Utopia as concept guides, Hamid’s artwork seeks to promote happiness, optimism and unity. With the absence of specific social, cultural or racial references, Hamid makes his work relevant across communities.
Hamid has studied architecture at Dalhousie University, figurative painting at NSCAD and industrial design at Carleton University. Recently, he was commissioned by MLSE to create an illustration for the Toronto Raptors (NBA), now featured in the Scotiabank Arena art collection. Hamid currently lives and works in Toronto.
